We have been using Ontraport for nearly five years now, and I must say that it is one of the best-kept secrets in the CRM world.

With no setup fees, a price that is a fraction of that of competitors, and a robust list of functionalities, this CRM is one of our top suggestions. When it comes to small businesses, Ontraport is for those looking for a solution which can not only get them started, but also keep them going!

The best part is that Ontraport’s low cost isn’t at the expense of the product’s quality! In fact, their email delivery rate is among the highest we have seen in the industry. This is not to mention the other functionalities and services, which are equally as impressive.

Ontraport is used by a large number of well-known bloggers, coaches, and small businesses of all kinds. Online training companies have been flocking to Ontraport over the past few years.

The Pros

1. Affordability

As we mentioned above, Ontraport is incredibly affordable. Their pro plan starts at $297/month and has no additional setup fees, giving the consumer the capacity for up to 25,000 contacts, in contrast with Infusionsoft, who charge a mandatory $1,999 kickstart fee, plus $299/month, for 5,000 contacts.

Now, this is just the start. Scaling Ontraport is just as affordable. Here is an example; If you are using the Hubspot CRM and you want to move from 1,000 contacts up to 10,000 contacts, your monthly subscription will increase from $800/month up to $2,400/month.

Ontraport, however, has an affordable solution, adding only what you need. You can either upgrade to the next tier for a reasonable $575, pay an extra $99 for 100,000 email credits, or add another user for just $47 per month.

2. Large Range Of Features

Ontraport comes with an incredible range of highly functional features, including a CRM, shopping cart, affiliate management tool, landing page / micro site creator, auto-responders, a WordPress membership platform, online event / webinar creator, and task automation for a few hundred dollars per month.

To get to this level of functionality in SalesForce or Infusionsoft, you would need a robust list of addons to get you going. (This is not to say that SalesForce and Infusionsoft are not for some people! )

3. Excellent Email Delivery Rate

With their own dedicated IP addresses for sending emails, which have great sender reputation, Ontraport enables you to avoid the spam box and get great email delivery rates.

4. Customer Support 

This is something you will be ecstatic to find out about the Ontraport community. Their customer service is excellent!
Not only do they have a dedicated customer service line available, but they also have an incredible user community on Facebook where you gather insights and ideas from other Ontraport users and team members. You can even see Landon Ray (Ontraport’s Founder/CEO) comment and engage on there weekly.

The Cons

1. The Interface 

The interface is fairly bland. While the dashboard is customizable, don’t expect it to add much motivation to your team in terms of visual effects.

2. Building Sequences

Although Ontraport’s campaign builder is easy to use and sufficiently powerful, it works by adding text-based rules, one under another. We find the visual ‘flowchart’ style campaign builder used by some of Ontraport’s competitors more intuitive to use.

Wrapping Things Up

If you are looking for a fairly easy and affordable CRM that can take care of most of your businesses needs, Ontraport is probably right for you.

While Infusionsoft and Hubspot are definitely worth looking at, Ontraport is less expensive and still has everything you are probably looking for to get the job done.
